Notarized translation of a document

A notarized translation is prepared by a qualified translator whose signature on the translation is authenticated by a notary. The translator who prepared the translation must therefore attend the notary’s office. The notarial certification states that the translator’s identity, legal capacity and qualifications have been verified. At your request, we can arrange notarization of the completed translation or certify it with the KAPLAN agency seal. When you order a notarized translation from our agency, notarization is included in the quoted translation price.

Stages of notarized translation

Translators who are also practising notaries are rare, so a notarized translation is usually prepared in the following stages:

1. First, a translator with a relevant university qualification translates the document into or from the required language, formats it appropriately and signs it in the notary’s presence. The translator is responsible for accurately conveying the information in the original document and presents evidence of their professional qualifications to the notary.
2. The notary then authenticates the translator’s signature, verifies their qualifications and records their details in the notarial register.
